The best Samsung phone under ₹20,000 is the Galaxy M17e 5G with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, at around ₹19,999. It has a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip, a 6.7-inch 120Hz LCD screen, a 6,000mAh battery with 25W charging and a 50MP main camera without OIS. Amazon.in buyers rate it 4.1.
Samsung promises it six Android upgrades and security updates until 31 January 2032. No Samsung phone under ₹20,000 that we checked gets support for longer. The same phone is also sold as the Galaxy F70e and the Galaxy A07 5G, and the F70e costs about ₹1,500 less.
Samsung has raised its prices in India repeatedly in 2026, so ₹20,000 buys less than it did a year ago. Most of our six picks cost between ₹15,000 and ₹20,000, and the 4G Galaxy M07 costs around ₹11,999.

Galaxy M, F or A series: what is the difference?
The letter mostly tells you where Samsung sells the phone, not how good it is. The M series launches on Amazon, the F series on Flipkart, and the A series in Samsung's own stores and authorised mobile shops. All three are on Samsung.com, and some models are the same phone with a different badge.
Samsung's model numbers show the twins. The Galaxy M17e, F70e and A07 5G are SM-M076B, SM-E076B and SM-A076B. Samsung's spec sheets list the same screen, cameras, battery, size and weight for all three. The Galaxy M17 and F17 are another pair, SM-M176B and SM-E176B.
So compare all three badges before you buy. On 13 October, the 6GB F70e cost ₹1,501 less than the 6GB M17e on Amazon.in, while the 4GB A07 5G cost about ₹1,000 more than the 4GB M17e. The numbers in the names can mislead too: the F70e and A07 5G are the same phone.
How many years of updates does each Samsung phone get?
Five of our six picks get six Android upgrades, with security updates until August 2031 or later. The Galaxy F06 gets four upgrades, with security updates until March 2030. Samsung counts these years from a phone's first global launch, not from the day you buy it.
Security updates patch holes that criminals use to break into phones. Without them, a phone gets riskier for banking and UPI.
Because the clock starts at launch, an older phone has fewer years left. We divided each Amazon.in price by the years of security updates left from 13 October 2026. The end dates come from Samsung India's spec pages, such as the Galaxy M17e page.

The F06 has the lowest price of the 5G phones, yet it costs the most per year of support. Its updates end almost two years before the M17e's. Among 5G phones, the 4GB F70e costs least per year. The M07 costs even less, but has no 5G.

The M17e is the all-rounder. Its MediaTek Dimensity 6300 is an entry-level 5G chip built for everyday apps such as WhatsApp, YouTube and UPI. Its 6GB of RAM keeps more apps open than 4GB does. Storage is 128GB. A microSD card of up to 2TB goes in the second SIM slot.
The 6.7-inch LCD screen is HD+ (720 x 1600) and refreshes at up to 120Hz, so scrolling looks smooth. Text is less sharp than on a Full HD+ screen. The 6,000mAh battery is the largest among our picks, and it charges at 25W. The phone weighs 199g.
The main camera is 50MP, paired with a 2MP depth sensor for portraits, and has no OIS. The phone is IP54 rated against dust and splashes, has a 3.5mm headphone jack, and comes with One UI 8 on Android 16. Samsung promises six Android upgrades and security updates until 31 January 2032.

The F70e is the M17e under another name, with a leather-finish back. Samsung lists the same Dimensity 6300 chip, 6.7-inch HD+ 120Hz LCD, 6,000mAh battery with 25W charging, IP54 rating and 199g weight. The cameras are the same 50MP + 2MP pair without OIS. This version has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
It costs ₹1,501 less than the 6GB M17e on Amazon.in, and its security updates also end on 31 January 2032. Samsung promises six years of OS and security updates, and says its Knox Vault is EAL5+ certified, which means it passed strict security testing.
The drawback is the seller on Amazon.in. Samsung launched the F70e on Flipkart, Samsung.com and select stores, not on Amazon, so this Amazon.in listing is a reseller's, with far fewer reviews than the M17e. The 4GB version costs about ₹16,239.
- Buy it if you want everything the M17e offers and would rather keep ₹1,500.

The M17 is the only pick with optical image stabilisation (OIS) on its 50MP main camera. OIS moves parts inside the camera to cancel out hand shake, so night photos come out less blurry and videos look steadier. The M17 also has a 5MP ultra-wide camera for group photos and a 13MP selfie camera.
Its 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen is Full HD+ (1080 x 2340), so text looks sharper and blacks look deeper than on the LCD phones here. It refreshes at 90Hz, and Samsung rates it at 1,100 nits in high brightness mode for sunlight.
Inside is an Exynos 1330 chip with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A microSD card of up to 2TB goes in the second SIM slot. The 5,000mAh battery charges at 25W, and Samsung Wallet's Tap & Pay works on the phone.
The M17 weighs 192g and is 7.5mm thin, with IP54 protection and Gorilla Glass Victus. Samsung promises six Android upgrades and security updates until 30 September 2031.

The A07 5G is the third name for the M17e and F70e, and the one Samsung sells most widely, in its own stores, on Samsung.com and through authorised shops. It has the same Dimensity 6300 chip, 6.7-inch HD+ 120Hz LCD, 6,000mAh battery with 25W charging, and 50MP + 2MP cameras without OIS.
This version has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and a microSD card of up to 2TB goes in the second SIM slot. It weighs 199g, runs One UI 8 on Android 16 and is IP54 rated. Like its twins, it gets six Android upgrades and security updates until 31 January 2032.
Its own Amazon.in page has only 27 ratings, but the M17e, the same phone, has over 2,500 across its two listings.
- Buy it if you prefer to buy from a local shop, or if it costs the least of the three twins on the day you buy.

The F06 is the lowest-priced Samsung 5G phone with 128GB of storage that we found on Amazon.in. It has the same Dimensity 6300 chip as the M17e, with 4GB of RAM. The 6.7-inch HD+ LCD refreshes at 90Hz, and the 5,000mAh battery charges at 25W. It weighs 191g.
The camera is 50MP with a 2MP depth sensor and no OIS, and Samsung does not list an IP rating. Support is the bigger trade-off. Samsung promises four Android upgrades, and security updates end on 31 March 2030, almost two years before the M17e's.

If the phone is for a parent, or only needs calls, WhatsApp, YouTube and UPI, the M07 saves you ₹8,000 against the M17e. Samsung still promises six Android upgrades and security updates until 31 August 2031, the lowest cost per year of support in our table.
It runs a MediaTek Helio G99 chip with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, of which Samsung says 45.1GB is free out of the box. A separate microSD slot takes cards up to 2TB, so you can use two SIMs and a card together.
The 6.7-inch HD+ LCD refreshes at 90Hz, and the 5,000mAh battery charges at 25W. The main camera is 50MP with a 2MP depth sensor and no OIS. The phone weighs 184g and is IP54 rated.
Samsung.com listed it at ₹11,399 on 13 October, ₹600 less than Amazon.in, so check both.
- Buy it if you want a Samsung with long support for basic use at the lowest price.
- Skip it if you want 5G. The M07 is a 4G phone, and 64GB fills up fast with photos and WhatsApp media.
Which Samsung phone has the best camera under ₹20,000?
The Galaxy M17 5G. It and its twin, the Galaxy F17, are the only Samsung phones under ₹20,000 we found with OIS on the main camera. Both add an ultra-wide camera and a 13MP selfie camera. The other picks pair a 50MP main camera with a 2MP depth sensor for portraits.
Samsung lists Full HD at 30 frames per second as the top video setting on every pick, so look at other brands if you want 4K video.
Do Samsung phones come with a charger?
No. The box holds the phone, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a SIM tool and a quick start guide. Samsung's own pages for the M17 and F06 say the 25W charger is sold separately. Samsung's 25W adapter costs about ₹518 on Amazon.in, which takes the M17e to around ₹20,517.
Not every charger gives you 25W. Samsung says its Super fast charging needs a USB PD charger that supports PPS (Programmable Power Supply), which you can confirm in the charger's specifications. Samsung's fast charging guide lists the voltages.
Samsung's EP-T2510N adapter lists PPS, and 23,810 buyers rate it 4.4. Many other listings put "Original Samsung" in the title, so check that the brand shown under the title is Samsung.
What do One UI and Knox add?
One UI is Samsung's version of Android, and Knox is its security system. Auto Blocker, in One UI's security settings, blocks apps that come from outside the Play Store and Galaxy Store. Knox Vault is a separate secure area that stores your PIN, passwords and fingerprint data.
Samsung says Auto Blocker also stops malicious chargers and computers from sending commands to the phone over a USB cable. If a scammer sends you a fake app through WhatsApp, Auto Blocker blocks the install. Samsung lists Knox Vault for the M17e, F70e, M17 and M07.
The M17e, F70e and A07 5G come with One UI 8 on Android 16, and the M17, M07 and F06 launched with Android 15.
Why do Samsung phones cost more in 2026?
Samsung has raised its phone prices in India again and again this year. SamMobile, a Samsung news site, counted nine increases in eight months by August 2026 and named rising memory chip costs as the likely cause. The M17e launched at ₹15,499 for 6GB + 128GB in March, and it now costs around ₹19,999.
Amazon.in sellers charged less than Samsung's own store on some models when we checked. Samsung.com listed the 6GB M17e and F70e at ₹21,499. The Galaxy M36 5G, a step up, now costs around ₹24,999 on Amazon.in.
When is a non-Samsung phone the better buy?
When you want speed, a charger in the box or more memory for the money. Every Samsung phone we found at or under ₹20,000 had 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage at most and an entry-level chip. None came with a charger.

Stay with Samsung if long updates, a large service network or One UI matter more to you. Samsung says it has over 3,300 service touchpoints in India.
What to check before you buy
- Processor. The Dimensity 6300, Exynos 1330 and Helio G99 are entry-level chips for everyday apps.
- RAM and storage. Aim for 6GB + 128GB. 4GB is fine for basic use, and 64GB fills up fast. On every pick except the M07, a microSD card uses the second SIM slot.
- Screen. AMOLED and Full HD+ look richer and sharper, and 120Hz scrolls more smoothly than 90Hz. Under ₹20,000, Samsung makes you choose between a Full HD+ AMOLED screen and 120Hz.
- Battery and charging. 6,000mAh lasts longer than 5,000mAh. Every pick charges at 25W, and none includes a charger.
- Camera. Look for OIS if you take photos at night or record video. Only the M17 and F17 have it here.
- Update end date. Samsung India's spec page lists a "Security Update Period" date for each phone. Later is better.
- The badge. M, F and A twins are the same phone, so buy whichever costs least for the RAM you want.
- The seller. Check the seller's rating, and keep the GST invoice for warranty claims.

For most people, buy the Galaxy M17e 5G with 6GB + 128GB at around ₹19,999. It has the largest battery, a smooth 120Hz screen and security updates until January 2032.
If a listing with fewer reviews does not worry you, the Galaxy F70e 5G is the same phone for about ₹1,500 less. For better photos and a sharper AMOLED screen, choose the Galaxy M17 5G.
